Review- Geek Chic Cosmetics Swatches

Hey, sorry again about the lack of updates. Classes started again Monday (really soon, I know), and I was stranded in the airport for the day. This post isn't really a brand review, since it isn't my first Geek Chic purchase. I'll eventually swatch the products I already have.

I noticed that they've switched from handwritten thank-yous to stickers, but it makes sense, seeing how they're a small company that has to handle an increasing number of orders. As usual, the items have a sticker on the sifter, are shrink-wrapped, and are packaged in a plastic baggie within the bubble mailer. I ordered on Black Friday, so it took a little bit longer than usual to get to me. (About a little over 2 weeks)

L-R: Blush/Bronzer in Rotten Miracles, Eyeshadow in Idjits, and Eyeshadow sample in Newb
I ordered a bronzer/blush in Rotten Miracles, a dark orange shimmer and an eyeshadow from the new Superneutrals collection in Idjits. I received an eyeshadow sample in Newb.

Rotten Miracles. I got a bad sifter sticker.
When I opened Rotten Miracles, I was sad to see that the sifter sticker didn't do it job. The outer shrink-wrap protected the lid from loosening, so none of the product actually got out of the jar until I opened it. This is the first time this has happened to me in my orders, so I'm not really upset. The size of the container is definitely larger and easier to use than the one from Black Rose Minerals, although Rosa contacted me to let me know that she is looking into it.

Applied heavily and blended out
The color actually works really well on me; it blends to a sheer shimmer. I'll probably use this on my legs once the weather warms up some more. (Even though it's going to be 70ยบ this week.)

Sticker was fine on this one.
I have to be honest, Idjits seems a lot warmer to me in real life than it did online. It's still a pretty neutral brown, and the sparkles are pretty but not distracting, so I'll still probably wear it enough. I didn't really get much of the green, but it may have been my lighting.

Newb
Geek Chic's Newb eyeshadow, not to be confused with Geek Chic's Newb Joystick. I honestly liked this a lot more than I expected. At first, I figured it would be too light for me, especially since it is a matte color.

Top: Idjits, Bottom: Newb, Right: Rotten Miracles
Left: With Glamourdoll Eyes Foil Me; Middle: With Lorac Behind the Scenes primer; Right: Swatched dry
I was surprised at how well Newb showed up dry, and how well it worked with a foiling medium. Most mattes become gunky when foiled, but Newb didn't. Idjits makes a slightly lighter and less shimmery alternative to my Nic Cage Raking Leaves on a Brisk October Afternoon from Shiro. (I promise I'll get to that!)

Here's a quick look I made with the three.
Even though this order didn't go as well as my last ones, I don't think the problems were serious enough for concern. Hopefully future orders will go better for me.
